In de toneelliteratuur wordt vaak gerouwd om geliefden, het noodlot beklaagd en de wereld betreurd. Veel van deze bekende toneelteksten werden van origine gezongen; als lamentari oftewel klaagzangen.

 

In dit onderzoeksproject werken de toneelspelers van Altstadt Ensemle een week lang samen met muzikanten van Tarab Choir om deze toneelteksten opnieuw muziek in te blazen.

Het resultaat wordt gepresenteerd tijdens O.

Meet Tarab Choir!

 

From all over the Netherlands coming from seven different nationalities a group of musicians and performers gathered spurred by passion to perform compositions from the first half of the 20th century that were either forgotten or misrepresented through time. TARAB The merging of music and emotional transformation is articulated in the concept of Tarab, it is rapture and the state of reaching a trance and oneness with the music which corresponds with our musical vision. TARAB choir aims to select compositions according to both artistic and historical value, not merely according to ancient relevance, apart from touristic folklore.
